Shai de Toledo co-founded HB Antwerp in 2020 and built end-to-end traceability for diamonds. He now leads four companies that apply the same provenance and sovereignty to minerals and terrain.
At HB Antwerp, the company he co-founded in 2020, de Toledo made the most secretive supply chain on Earth transparent: every diamond logged to a blockchain, the cutting moved into the producing country, the value kept at the source. HB cut some of the largest rough diamonds ever found.
“Our ambition was to return value creation to producing countries. As the company's direction shifted away from that mission, it was time to step back, and step into new ventures that continue to pursue that vision.”Shai de Toledo · on leaving HB Antwerp · April 2025

A rough diamond followed from a Botswana mine to its owner, cut with a proprietary technique, with a fund that returns value to the communities at the source.
